Want to know how local authorities like Manchester, Belfast, Edinburgh and Wolverhampton are leading the way on post-pandemic digital transformation?

We recently commissioned the Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr) to look at the potential benefits to the UK Economy of the continued investment in digital transformation projects, similar to what we’ve seen over last year.

Across the UK the Cebr estimates that continued investment in digital change projects could increase UK GDP by £232bn, or 6.9% by 2040.

Digital infrastructure projects initiated by local and central government and blue-light services could generate a £32bn sector boost towards UK GDP over the same time-frame. A 1% uplift to the UK economy.

Our new report explored some of the most exciting projects happening in these areas, including interviews with key people involved in making them happen.

“Mayor Andy Burnham’s great passion is digital acceleration. If we can get connected and stay connected we can move mountains.” Sara Todd, Lead Chief Executive Greater Manchester Digital Portfolio & Chief Executive of Trafford MBC

“The pandemic crystalised the need to develop strategies which are inclusive but based on innovation.” Dr Jayne Brady MBE, Digital Information Commissioner, Belfast
