It’s easy to say that “modernization” is the way forward. But it’s also clear that modernization can mean vastly different things to different organizations - anything from rehosting or re-platforming applications through to refactoring to make them cloud native.

For some organizations doing nothing and maintaining legacy applications unchanged may also be a perfectly plausible strategy, as is simply swapping licensed, on premises versions of software for SaaS alternatives.
